Living By God's Spirit

    This coming Sunday, Christians throughout the world will celebrate Pentecost - the coming of the Holy Spirit to God's people. When Jesus ascended into heaven, He told his followers to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20). God sent His Spirit to fill us, his followers, with power and passion to proclaim His infinite, awesome love to all we meet! At WCS, each day we are faced with the reality that Jesus loves us and that His love fills every corner of creation. Since we live by His Spirit, we are empowered to be in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). And then, our living for Jesus shows itself in the fruit of the Spirit- LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL (Galatians 5:22,23). God promises to be with us always and challenges us daily to share His love! How awesome is God!
